Everlight's Photo Link family of components consist of opto-electrical transmitters and receivers. The transmitter component transforms an electrical signal to an optical signal which is then transmitted by 1mm diameter plastic optical fiber. The receiver component is packaged with a custom optic data link interface, integrated on a proprietary CMOS PDIC process. It receives the optical signal and converts it into an electric one. These devices transmit signals at speeds of 16Mbps, 25Mbps, and 50Mbps NRZ Signal) while offering up to 8kV of ESD protection.
